Basically this is a new MRAP and the U.S. needs up to 10,000 at a cost in the neighborhood of $500,000 each. We get the chance to drive and watch this version, built by Oshkosh, get put to the test.

My son drives an MATV in the Herat Province... On December 11 he hit an IED and distroyed it with his entire team escaping with limited injuries,,, Not sure that would have been the case it he was in a HMMWV

The MATV is excellent for the new age of the MRAP but it will never be a HMMWV.
