Trying To Do The Best I Can Live

This is a live performance from our Black History Month Poetry Slam. I wrote this song about two weeks before the slam. It's not gospel, obviously, like what I usually do, but it is intended to be inspirational and a bit motivational, especially if things have been kind of rough for you.

Sam and I got to play a lot that night, and given that he's only 11th grade, I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot more from him in the future. We're having another poetry slam, "Copacetic and Cool," in May, and hopefully we'll have some more video up from that.
