The video here doesn't do it justice although it is a cool reminder. You literally felt the sound hit you with air for the entire time. It was like a rocket taking off or explosion over and over. I felt like I was being shot with an air machine gun in addition to the sound. My skin was crawling. The floor shook. It was unreal.

went to see them (ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BTW), watched it without earplugs (except for the holocaust) and was fine..my ears were recovered within an hour. the loudness is so important to their show it changes their performance from a song to a whole body experience. your ears get blasted, your eyes get blasted, your body even gets blasted from sound waves that you can FEEL under clothes. Its a full body experience which is what they go for, its friggin awesome!
long live MBV!

DisasterArea are generally held to be not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but in fact the loudest noise of any kind at all. Regular concert-goers judge that the best sound balance is usually to be heard from within large concrete bunkers some thirty-seven miles from the stage, whilst the musicians themselves play their instruments by remote control from within a heavily insulated spaceship which stays in orbit around the planet or more frequently around a completely different planet.

i was there, in the front. i survived the holocaust (that's what the brutal onslaught of noise is referred as)

Fucking Hell thats amazing !!!

I was at this concert, in the third row. I'm surprised I'm not deaf...
I met Bilinda afterward and my ears were still ringing, I couldn't even fully understand what she was saying (although maybe that's just because she's so damn adorable and I was distracted...)

It's "To here knows when (live)"
Emma, that's because the recording equipment is probibly a cell phone. On one of these pages is a live cut of there last show (I think) in Japan. It's professionaly done (yes I can't spell). The song is off of Loveless.
Check it out....
p.s. they are still the loudest band I've ever seen, and I've seen a few :] loud bands that is.

@KozmoJ68 It was recorded on a digital camera. Without professional equipment, any consumer-grade microphone will be clipped out with those sound levels.

Look, I like most of Loveless and Isn't Anything and a lot songs that are only on eps, but this is horrible. Every live MBV video I have seen and heard has been.

They weren't really playing a song here. It was just super loud noise. I doubt many pocket camera microphones will be able to handle that decibel level well, which is why you won't hear a clear recording.
