Seeking energy solutions with a smarter power grid

University of Minnesota professor Massoud Amin explains how a smart power grid would help America become more energy efficient, self-sufficient for power and more secure from threats abroad. A smart grid would also make our use of electricity more intuitive and easier to distribute. Through the use of sensors, the grid could be more responsive which helps to control costs and blackouts.

An interesting insight into how the smart grid can revolutionize the way power is generated, transported and ultimately consumed. Creating the  smart grid network would not only be economical and non polluting but would also reduce the chances of blackouts.
