Human electric hybrid

This is my entry in the Innovate or Die contest. The concept vehicle in the animation is a human-electric hybrid. You power the generator and the electric motor drives the vehicle.
I found out about the competition 5 days ago and did some serious work over the weekend so there are quite a few things I would like to change :)I will try to upload a fixed version later on.

what's wrong with a hybrid bike? they already exist, and are much more practical. sure, a monowheel- based design looks cool, but under suden braking it would simply roll forward. if you tried to turn quickly at speed, it would simply tip over. this has more to do with form than it has to do with function. please excuse the long post...

@htomerif a simple answer to fix this would be front and back mini wheels so that if and when the vehicle starts to roll forward or backward the other wheels make contact with the surface preventing you from rolling.

Why not just a bicycle? i dont disagree with this question, but a bigger wheel gives you a much smoother ride, depending on what the wheel material is made of.

I see all the Mr. Garrison jokes are already made. My comment is what happens when you have to stop really quickly with this thing? It might be fun for thrill seekers, but senior citizens dont appreciate being flipped end over end or rocking back and forth like some out of control rocking chair. I guess basically why this? Why not just an electric hybrid bicycle?

la verdad una autentica cagada, las 2 ruedas son mas compactas mas facil de llevar y seguro que mas liviana. aparte la posicion del que pedalea es incomodoma. vamos que las 2ruedas no van a desaparecer, y hasta se hacen mas compactas. esa rueda ggante esta pensado para mundos con problemas de espacio fisico? digo cada vez aumenta mas la poblacion. los chinos duermen practicamente parados porque no entran y ellos hacen cosas mas grandes...

So much thought was put into this... except for the part where you approach a red light at the bottom of a hill. You step on the brakes and and continue to roll because your whole vehicle is a wheel and you've only halted the rotation of the inner wheel where you're sitting compared to the outer portion of the wheel. The result is that you get really dizzy right before that truck hits you because you've rolled right through the intersection.
