I don't think it was a fair trial, because the Modena has lots of torque - an yes it is faster on a straight shoot. The 996 Turbo has a lot of traction for the kind of test they were doing. Thats Porsh's main strength, their stability and handling.

thing is...all porsche's look the same. they aren't 'head turners' and never will be. Theres just too many different models that look the same. So there a waste of money in my opinion.

but the f430 is slower than the 997 turbo :)

i hate the mid engines ferrari's its so un ferrari, i personally think of a ferrari as a red car with rear wheel drive and a v12 in the front

Not,model change everyhing such as f430 maybe equal with 996 tt but 360 slower than that

actually, price wise, retail for the 2003 996twin turbo was: $125,685 and 2003 modena 360 was: $143,860

really not much of a difference. I have friends that own both and I like both cars. I think the ferrari is the better looking of the two, but the 996 is definitely faster, Porsche severely underrates it's cars. Also, ferraris spend more time in repair and porsches are like the toyotas of the supercar world. I'd like to own both, but I'll stick with my sti due to budgetary constraints

You can' compare because a 360 used cost more then a 996 new.

Both are beautiful and powerful racecars.
