@silverknight1st mostly all Hikari and Nozomi services has a 16-car config train, it's made to carry around 1300 ppl. On busy days every Shinkansen train goes full even if every shinkansen departs every 3 min.

California will get high speed trains and Orlando - Tampa route will be also a high speed line. one of those lines wil get a japanese equipment of the Shinkansen N700

no, it wasn't because of car industry.
the real reason is "civil rights movement" and de-segregation.
the law told people to seat next to each other, but people chose not to.
people chose to drive alone in their cars, rather than seat next to "other people"

I had the experience of one of these going past the station platform when I was in Japan last year and it is #%@%ing incredible! Scared the crap out of me.
