1. It can go both ways, so do the chairs inside. Kick one button and the chair can rotate 180 degrees.
2. Faster? Well...250km/h for this one, but the latest models (in CHINA) run at 350km/h=217mph.
This is a Japanese design, and China is now running various high speed trains with Japanese, German, Italian and French(?) origin.
350km/h trains will start operation on Dec 20, 2009. They are now doing final test runs.
It's always good to ask. ;-)

It is not Japan is the only country with train technology. Dont just scream about that. Ya, I can say that Japanese car technology is from America, Japan did not have the tech and they made their cars with a support of America.

The Chinese do NOT have technology of maiking such trains!
