Massive track from the 2002 album Songs For The Deaf. I used a '94 Gibson Nighthawk detuned to C with .12 gauge strings, Peavey JSX amp and no effects at all...just amp distortion.

The trick to learning the intro and outro patterns is in understanding the rhythm of the harmonic at the 5th fret...not trying to figure out the low open C string pattern. In other words, listen to the rhythm of the harmonic rather than the open C and it should be easier to understand.

Thanks for watching - now go buy this album from Queens of the Stone Age if you don't already own it. Seriously. It's my only personal and official recommendation so far. Now go!
