Yeah... I did a herringbone deck... joists are spanned at 12". Four feet??? A few of my kids' 250 pound friends all standing in the same place would make short work of that....

Holy shit , should have added joists after the base. The span on your floor boards is well over four feet . I give it half a year before the floor sags and pulls apart .

I'm thinking of building a simple square deck that measures 20' x 20' . Can I lay the dek- blocks 4' apart? I'm estimating that I will need approximately 36 dek blocks. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated .

@ExtremeRecluse Floating deck , it rides with the movement of the soil, doesnt need anything else.
