Day 12 was cold and, at times, depressing. The highlight was finding a cool bar called Goodbye Blue Monday. Sadly, that bar has now closed. We also had a look at my old flat and the place I used to work in 1999. I also tried to find a restaurant called Mainstreet, but it seemed to have disappeared. (Does anyone from Chch know what happened to Mainstreet? Did it close? Move? When?)
We also changed motorhomes. From day 1, we had this motorhome:

From day 12, we changed to this one:

Pretty much the same ... but the new one is longer, has another seat/bed, DVD player/screen, 4 elements etc.

Sad that people had to die in the earthquakes.
In Australia, after a bush fire. It is a renewal for the land. A time for new plants to grow and thrive.
I hope Christchurch sees the earth quakes in a similar way. A time for regeneration of the city and it's people, so the destruction becomes an opportunity for rebirth or enhance what was there before.

In the States "Belt Up" is "Buckle Up" and the occasional police threat, "Click it or Ticket"...bastards....! Great trip and scenery. Sad about the earthquake damage, but like all things, they never last, unless it's called the "The Great Pyramids of Giza" God Bless you guys the rest of the way...!

It is sad when things from the past change, but like a friend of mine used to say "All changes, everything changes...except for the moon, the moon stays always the same." Cheer up Sarah, the big guy knows why he does it sometimes, Im sure he has his reasons too.
