This is a 3 minute edited phone call to VerizonWireless requesting infomation about their rate plan.

The sales reps quote "0.002 cents per kb" for data transfer in Canada but customers are then billed @ 0.002 dollars per kb.

Other recordings on this subject show that many of the customer service reps claim that both are one and the same.

No wonder our country (USA) is rated so poorly on our math skills.

  • ....What? If she lived in mexico she would know the difference between units? They use peso's dude. Unless all mexicans are all educated in the American standard of currency, but why not? This world is apparently full of surprises.

  • @Codemaster92163 they are the same number, what makes the value different is whether it's cents or dollars. 0.5 is the same .5 ....but 0.5 *dollars* does not equal .5 *cents*

  • The thing that upsets me is the possibility that all these people working for Verizon didn't lack math skills. Instead, maybe they had been told by someone higher on the corporate ladder to play dumb and attempt to deceive the customer, or to just make him give up out of sheer frustration. Who knows how many people have been tricked because they didn't pay close enough attention to their bill?

  • @meatrace If she lived in Mexico she would know the difference between units.

  • @yungjesse Give the gal a break, she lives in Mexico City.

  • @Sorgutentarer It seems you have not grown up learning English, as yours isn't very good. What conversion requires 2.6755735 relative to inches.

  • So, in Canada, maybe Kb isn't 1024b but 10.24b? Or maybe Verizon reps are just tards...

  • Switch to metric system, your people grow up learnings 10s, 100s, 1000s,, not 2,6755735th of inches.
