would you be able to insert and access a ps3 hdd with this dock?

@jblackrupert I was just about to reply same as yours.. well said.

The slot in the top keeps the 2.5 drives from wiggling around

Excellent review. Very clear and orderly. Very helpful. You also remembered to talk about what's included in the box.
Thanks

@malayneum well, the ic board needs to be under the hdd so this dock is safe.
i have 2 of this brand, the usb 3.0 model. very nice dock.

th flap is for laptop hdd

i had one of these. the power button was faulty. i had to press it 3-4 times before it stayed on. i prefer using esata to sata cable and a sata power cable . i bought a set from compusa which is bare bones but it works much better for quick file transfer. This thing is not practical at all

I dont have this model but can you help me. My data was corrupted on my ps3 so i bought this so i could get my ps3 saves off it. For some reason though, it recognises the dock, but no devices actually appear on the "my computer" section

Great review and your video quality is excellent.
my hdd have the "do no cover this hole" thing. is it safe to use this dock? is the bay too tight? im afraid if the hdd going overheated because the IC board part of my hdd is the below ones which is going into the bay.

I must say that this is a GREAT review, you have been really accurate and this video can REALLY help people on choosing. I think that this sata docking stations are a really good idea, very simple but very effective. So I have decided to go for a sharkoon quickport pro, which has e-sata and it is black (you are right black is better..uhm vantec is one brand that sometimes uses white or silver). So I hope you go on with many others reviews, good work on this one!

Can I transfer data with my PS3 labtop hard drive? Cause I'm trying to find a way to transfer all my save data from the 60GB to a 500GB when I get a new PS3.

@genestarwindjf80
If you're talking about transferring data from an old PS3 to a new PS3, there is a way to do it using the network cable. But if you're talking about upgrading the hard disk of the same PS3, this may work, but I suggest connecting a portable hard drive to the console and backing up the data from the PS3 XMB menu...
