are taught to manage risk, rather than avoid it.
Everything is dangerous! says outdoor teacher Heidi Buvang. We motivate children to expand their limits, to try hanging from branches and climbing trees. Outdoor nurseries are trying to counteract concerns that childhood has become overprotected and believe external education makes children more creative and independent. Were competing with computer games, says Heidi, Its important to give children the desire to be outdoors.

  • No such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes. Never thought of it that way. Quite like that attitude

  • Love this..so simple and so amazing! I will have to move when I have my children! :)

  • Haha 2:23 I love the way he says "Outside its ONLY JUST about freezing, so these five years old needs to dress warmly". It sound like he has been told that "only just about freezing" really aint that cold in Norway but he just cant believe it. Normal winter temperature in the winter are about -5 to -15C.

  • This is wonderful! I know there are some outdoor kindergardens in the U.S. but none where I live. Thankfully we homeschool and do much of the same things.

  • @me0000ww Five year old children all over the world light fires and cut things with knives. It's only in SOME places where not allowing them to do this is "conventional".

  • @Lucailey What is the cost of having your kid light a match? They learn how to do it safely and aren't spending their lives thinking it's an enticing act. What do you think, that the kids are just dropping like flies there? How absurd!

  • @talkative12 What's even scarier is that some five year olds can't cut their own food or help prepare dinner because nobody lets them use knives.

  • I love this video! Quite inspiring! I feel bad about not taking my toddler out on this blustery day now. Of course, he didn't watch TV all day, he played, but we could have enjoyed the clouds.

And those who say the poor do not pay taxes-they don't pay federal, and maybe not state, but they do pay property taxes on cars and a higher percentage of their pay on sales tax.

  • The nanny state's nightmare. Too..many..uncontrolled...factors.!!!

  • i wish i could have that in my country

  • Amazing!
