Listening for a cracked valve spring retainer on your KLZE

The KLZE from the factory comes with weak valve springs, but a high rev limiter which isn't uncommon for a ZE to crack a retainer due to valve float. This video is just to show what it will sound like if such a thing should ever happen. You will know what to hear. BTW, my timing belt tensioner is a little bit on the loose side but you can still hear the mechanical ticking noise which is the cracked retainer.

i tried finding anything i could on interprep springs but could'nt find a thing on their site even mentioning it, im in the same boat for the moment, im going to DE springs but im trying to find an on head spring compressor so i wont have to go through al the bs of pulling everything apart and re-time it

find a pair of klde heads and swap the valve springs and retainers, its a cheap fix if you have a valve spring compressor that doesnt require you to remove the head

@backpackwithjets Actually I did that already and in that video is the combination that you speak of. It worked for about 3 or 4 years and it finally decided to break. The DE springs are good only if you plan on revving it to 7k rpm and no more. The DE springs can take some abuse but I think mine were just getting weak in that engine from revving it to 7500 all the time. I have the interprep valve springs in it now it and maybe it was because I had a few weak springs but it sounds stronger now.
