  • Thank you for all the comments. The North *is* just as much a part of our country as the South. It is not some problem to be dealt with. It is a part of our national familty - a part of which I am very proud.

We need to be a house united - sharing more in the benefits each part of our country enjoys. There is too much development in the South - and people in Dover & Deal will know my more local concerns for our community on this score annd my hopes for more jobs locally.

  • BASTARD SOUTHERNERS

  • When I was 19 I spent five months as an American tourist in England. Basically just hiking and travelling all over the country. I thought the people in London were snobbish and very unfriendly. Run you over with their car and not stop. While the people in Liverpool and environs were very nice and friendly. They would invite me into their homes for supper and even a bed for the night. Total strangers would converse with me on street corners and in shops. But maybe that's all changed now...

  • I'm from Sunderland and im very proud to be from the north. There should be much much more investment in oppertunities in the north and especially the north east. Its like we are too far away for the government to give a shite about.

I currently live in norwich now and although its a nice n friendly place to live the people here are proper up their own arse most of the time n not as friendly as the average northerner.

People down south think its rude not to put the toilet seat down after use :s

  • urghhhhh this makes me angry. Ignorant southerners.

  • soddin southerneers

  • ...wow!! im from the south but am definitely not posh...have you heard the bristolian accent?!?! have you watched only way is essex?!?!? i love the north and there should definitely not be a divide, yeah maybe southern people need to learn to smile to strangers but shouldnt it be individual people you should have views on not just regions and shouldnt we not claim that everyone in the region is exactly the same?

  • London sold us out over a century ago and continue to do so to this day. we're last in line to the rest of the UK because we're least likely to revolt.

  • As my schoolteacher said: quality is better than quantity= eat that southern pansy

  • @carnigourousplotting YEAH, SOUTHERN POSH THEY ARE

  • What a patronising git in the interview! "Quality of life". Life expectancy and health are worse in the North as well as education. Just cos this fella envies Northern culture doesn't mean it's some kind of bargaining chip to screw the place over economically! If they want real change why don't they set up more business incubators up North to stimulate growth as well as improving education so more business will want to move their offices North to reduce costs.

  • Bradford's twice as bad as Liverpool. It looks basically like a city from the industrial revolution except with tarmack, takeways, plastic bags, chavs and a big hole in the middle.

  • @CharlieElphicke Nope!!!!! fuck the south. shithole place!!! that's why we sent a few martyrs back in 2005.

to clean up your crummy underground. cillit kaboom, a nice and clean knightbridge station lol
