Here is a closer look at my Digisound 80 modular system. I've had this for about 20 years (just a box of bits in the beginning), Have built it up over the years. This is for those who are interested in these things. (Fuji digital camera with in built mic).

  • Beautiful sequence! I can't believe I hadn't seen this or commented yet!

  • Thank you John.

I've been keeping a close eye on your stuff. Love your Moon sequencer M569.

Its about time i put something new up.

  • Hi nice digisound sound! Are this ssm's or cem's! It is possible to buy a cem based digisound 80. But dont no if its sound nice. I mean more roland sh or moog stile!

  • Hello demag. Thanks for watching. This system has both ssm and cem chips in. I can get Roland and Moog sounds out. I just have to work hard and use more modules to do it.

  • Great to see another digisound video.

Thats a particularly nice sounding sequence you have going there - whats the trackng of the oscillators like it sounds pretty tight?

I have a bunch of loose digi modules, at some point ill get a cabinet made for them and put up a video myself, in the meantime please can we see more?

    Thanks.

  • Thanks Tuna. The 3 i'm using here are quite close. I have 2 more (top Left) that are wildly off so not in use as musical oscillators yet, (bit of a twiddle on the circuit board and they will be ok). I enjoy watching other synths, so get them in a box soon and fire it up. I'll be watching.

  • I too have a rack of Digisound modules which I built in the 80s... Charles Blakey who designed them lived about 15 miles away and I met him once when he offered to sort a problem with the interface between the modules and the Tangerine Controller unit.... recently I found out that my piano tuner is married to the guy who helped design these modules

  • Hi - Ian here ! (. Sorry I haven't been in touch recently - I've been busy with my flat but I have news about my PROJECT-80 synthesiser - it all works ! Opened up the cabinet and found a PSU wire had broken off ... two seconds with the soldering iron and it all sprang back to life. All that's left to do is to get the joystick working (probably more loose wires) and I want to bring the mixer sockets to the front - just need a bit of panelling. Do keep in touch !

  • lovely sequence!! very dreamy

  • wonderful Sequence!
