  • If you are talking about who does exactly what Chaplin did in Gold Rush...it would be hands down Robery Downey, jr. But for creative adaption to the current movie-goer, it is Johnny Depp. Take your pick. I like them both. :)

  • Robert is more professional.

  • i als0 th0ught they were p0tat0es. uh... grampa simpson.

  • @vineethonkan,

You seem to forget the song used in the one with RDJ is the same one used by Chaplin during the original.

Anywho I go with RDJ for his originality in the piece he did :)

  • Charlie....definitely

  • this is one of those cases where the background music also comes into play. While both CC and JD are doing the bread dance, there is fast music being played in the background, making it easier for each breadto hit the ground on the beat (either 1 or 2 beat). With RDJ, the music lacks the speed of the earlier two, as well as the bread beat.

    Therefore I would say JD.

PS: I originally thought they were potatoes!

  • Downey is the one!!!!

  • I have to say that for me Johnny made it better, to me RDJ seemed a little mechanic and Johnny's moves are fluent BUT THAT'S ME and I LOVE THEM BOTH they are my favorite two actors in the whole world *w*

  • Johnny Depp's performance in Benny and June drew much more influence from Buster Keaton than Charlie Chaplin. It's quite evident during the hat scene: the way his expression stays totally flat, the amount of physical abuse he takes without seeming to notice, and how most of what his character experiences in the film is the result of events coming after him; I don't know if he ever initiates anything. Downey, playing Chapling himself, is closer to the real man than Depp. Still, we all love Johnny

  • this is so epic...!!!

  • I pick Charlie Chaplin himself but Robert also :)

  • @mickiecute90 Robert Downey Jr!
