This video has given rise to the great "is it O'Hair or is it Rose" debate. Some evidence both ways. The others are pretty clear.
The vid is pretty interesting, though, isn't it? Watching them in quick succession, you start getting a feel for the very few things that are common to all--I don't mean specific positions, etc., but more big-picture principles (plane, path, releasing from the ground up, etc.).
Yeah, I think so. It complicates things a bit that Rose has looked significantly different at different points in his career, but the swing here really looks like O'Hair's.
Yeah-he's not my favourite player. But technically his swing is spot on. For a small guy he hits it to full potential. And more importantly he is very accurate with the irons. Rory McIlory has to be my current favourite player-so natural and LONG. He is almost perfect-if he improves on his 8-15ft holing-he will be a challenge for Tiger. Westwood is also very impressive. Worst looking swing-definitely Jeev Milka Singh followed by Furyk. How those guys are so good-mystery. Singh looks like
a beginner-the takeaway is for a HUGE SLICE. But he then drops it inside. And he is obviosuly very good. Just shows if you can get square at impact, anything goes. But a Donald technique is gonna help you achieve it.
I'm with you. There's a reason classic swings are classic.
As for J.M. Singh...man, are you ever not kidding. I'd heard how good the guy was for about two years before I finally saw him (maybe a couple of years ago?), and I nearly fell out of my chair. I guess you have to have serious talent to make a living with that swing. (Or something.) He must get it in the hole like a madman...
