Prelude number 15 in G by J.S. Bach played by Aisha Goodman aged 10. This was one of the pieces she played for her grade 7 exam. She passed with distinction!

  • Awesome, but distinctions arn't possible. there is only a+. I am 10 but in Grade 6. :-( Anyway, i skipped a grade at least i dont suck! ;-)

  • Maybe in Australia they do it differently. Here in the UK the grading I take is with the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). There are 4 possible results for the grading; Fail, Pass, Merit and Distinction. I have grade 7 with distinction. Now I am working on my grade 8 pieces. They are quite hard but really nice. The aural is very hard.

  • Great job! Keep up your good work!

  • i played this for my piano jury last semester...and im a freshman piano major! it's cool that you can play so well so young!

  • Quite a good rendition. I took up piano at the age of 9, and progressed up to grade 6 with an 'A' grading, but combined that with learning violin, and more extensively trombone. In Australia, there is an AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board), which awarded a grade certificate, and I remember when assessments changed from numbers to an overall result as a letter. The names (when numbers were used) were Fail, Pass, Credit, Distinction, and later (early 1970's) they had letters; D, C, B, A.

  • Well done! I am so tired of hearing this piece played as a flashy showpiece at 100mph. It's a gigue, meant to be danced, and not raced through; pure clavichord music. Check out Colin Tilney's performance on Hyperion; he plays it the same tempo as you.

  • she likes to hit those notes hard ! that sounded gay

  • @MsBerryMary They said her name in the beginning, watch...

  • haha is that an electric piano? o.o

and ur good, but dont rush and try more to keep in time :P.

Im not trying to be mean or anything, just some common advice.

Keep up the good work though.

I'm currently 13 working LTCL and ABRSM :)

  • @alansdad I thought u have Trinity Guildhall exams too...I am taking diploma exams under that cert...I am using an ABRSM book for my Trinity...lol...coz I just so happened to use that publication for Bach...
