Theme song, "You'd Better Believe It, Babe" was written by Rick Jones and David Pierce, and performed by their band, Meal Ticket.
Are there somewhere islands, over the horizon?
Hidden by the morning mist, forever out of reach.
Are there somewhere islands, where the cocoa ripens?
Wild canaries in the palms, a footprint on the beach.
Are there somewhere mountains, talked about in whispers?
Himalayas mountaineers never dared to climb.
Are there somewhere mountains, where the tiger dances?
Hillsides sweet with temple bells, as half as old as time.
You'd better believe it babe.
You'd better believe it babe.
'Cause in this mad man's universe, well at least the dreams are cheap.
Yes, you'd better believe it babe.
You'd better believe it babe.
'Cause if you don't it makes things worse, who wants a dreamless sleep?
Who wants a dreamless sleep?
Are there somewhere heroes, knights in shining armour?
Golden gallants come to life from faded tapestries.
Are there somewhere ladies waiting in the moonlight?
Ladies elegant and sad by weeping willow trees.
Look in children's faces as they build their castles
Castles made of sand to hold the bold and restless sea.
Look beyond the mirror, see the distant shadows
But believe the dreams appear as real as memory.

Rick Jones began his TV career as a presenter of Playschool in the 1960s where he played guitar and sang. In 1972, he became the star of Fingerbobs in which he created finger puppets made of paper. He then went on to form the country rock band Meal Ticket.
The Flipside of Dominick Hide is set in the year 2130. Dominick, a time traveller, is sent to observe transport systems in London 1980, where he believes he may have an ancestor.
After an unsuccessful visit to the flipside (the era before the Time Barrier was broken), Dominick returns to 2130 determined to try again. When Dominick visits the flipside again, he has a relationship with Jane. They spend a weekend together at a guesthouse in Herne Bay. As a result, Jane becomes pregnant. When Dominick learns this, he goes to his superior, Caleb Line, to admit his guilt. Caleb reveals that he was aware of what Dominick was doing. He sanctioned it because Dominick Hide is the victim of a "genetic time-slip" - he is, in fact, his own ancestor. The child Jane is carrying will be Dominick's great-grandfather.
Dominick decides to visit the flipside just once more, where he provides for Jane and his son by giving her the results for the following week's football pools. He explains that this will be the last time he can visit the flipside, and says a sad farewell to his great-great-grandmother.

Bought the DVD's recently, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was just as good as I remembered it. Bring back "Play for Today". Quality stuff.
