It's funny whenever John Williams' scores don't win the oscar, because in any given year, nobody writes scores that are even in the same BALLPARK as him. Not one single year. Especially since Goldsmith has passed. Memoirs of a Geisha especially. Gustavo Santaolalla's Brokeback Mountain won in 2005 instead of John. It's just a big laugh. Anybody with an interest in music can tell that the academy just feels awkward having John win all the time. But I think you should give it to whoever's is best.
