Third part (of five) of the 2007 documentary The Irrational Health Service. Biologist and professor Richard Dawkins examines the growing suspicion the public has for science based medicine, despite its track record of successes like the germ theory of disease, vaccines, antibiotics and increased lifespan.

Is it rational that the dead can communicate with the living? Or the bending of spoons using your mind alone? Is that rational? Richard Dawkins doesnt think so, and feels it is his duty to expose those areas of belief that exist without scientific proof, yet manage to hold the nation under their spell.

He will take on the worlds leading proponents in their field of expertise, meet the victims who have used them and expose the history of the movements from the charlatans who have milked these practices to the experiments and testing that have failed to produce conclusive results.

@Alkhameiry Richard Dawkins is *not* a "great man". He's an ordinary man with a good brain, and a solid grasp of logic, who is not comfortable just sitting back and watching the slow motion train wreck occurring in the western world today, as many of us do. Of course, he also has the capacity to wade deeply into other people's stupidity without becoming so frustrated as to make it hard to think or act constructively. That's what always trips me up. So maybe he *is* a great man, on *that* basis.

@UniversalRee Its very common techneque. first you claim something retarded, then you provide an explanation that doesnt make sense, followed by the claim that you are unable to understand it because your mind is prejudiced by rationalism etc or that one must be open minded.Open minded enough to just swallow anything the person is saying or you are not good enough to understand his mumbo jumbo.Finally a dessert of condescension to leave you startled at the stupidity.

@dabomb1357 i think you are missing detail. The Pope is more sinister as he commands people to not use contraception causing deaths and spread of disease which all on basis of no evidence and dogma.While this guy is simply making money off fools.One side is causing death and vigorous spread of a very deadly disease, the other is hardly doing that much harm as he at the least doesnt advise them to discontinue conventional medical procedures.
