Some would say one would be better off reading a factual biography or watching a documentary on Jane Austen.

Thank you. I hate when they make movies about famous women and force a romance in there. This video is brilliant.

My favorite part:
Tom: What value would there be in life if we are not together?
[Jane Austen (1775-1817), writer of six classic novels of the English Language.
Tom LeFroy (1776-1864), Chief Justice of Ireland for ten years.]

Lol awesome video. I never even thought about the ASL goof XD The only thing I disagreed with was why Jane and Tom broke up. Jane left the first time b/c Tom was backing out b/c his uncle wouldn't give him his allowance that he would send to his mother, which is what she realized later when she broke it off again. The 2nd time, Jane was trying to ensure his family would be provided for, instead of worrying about her own happines.

You got it 100% right about the American Sign Language and other things.
But I don't think that the movie tried to indicate at the end that Jane only felt her life had meaning because Tom finally approves of her writing. It was just one of those "bittersweet moment" kind of things.
Boy, she sure swung that bat as if she was playing baseball, not cricket!

yea...confused at American Sign Language in Regency England...funny!

having been to a regency dance and done this dance i have to say that smolder is actually part of the dance and his ability to do it without giggling is true talent becuase it's actually really awkward to stare longingly into someones eyes for a dance . but then i was dancing with a bunch of people i'd only met ten minutes previous

Best laugh I've had in a loooong time. The waistwatch was ingenious :)
His smoldering was pretty sexy.
