Jjcharboy16, I get at least two to three cars from independent shops a week, all they do is fuck the cars up, and we have to repair there fuckups, and end up waisting the customers time and money, but we gain new customers thanks to idiots like you!
Noelsing, yea and you sound very educated, I live in one of the most expensive towns in CT where do you live probably the Midwest ? I am not insulting anyone, just stating my opinion, asshole! i know it's hard to find a good mechanic, taking tests is not gonna make you better, you need years of experience, and the love for cars. Keep it up and I'll have you reported.
@l48smallblock Ok so getting ASE certified is a waste of time like you say. Where I work the pay difference between a certified tech and a non-certified tech is 10 percent. It might not seem like much but when the average service ticket is 1500.00 and you are getting paid on PARTS AND LABOR, it adds up REAL FUCKIN FAST! Like a 150.00 extra per job if you can do the math. By the way, did you graduate grade school? Just wondering because you can't spell worth a fuck!
@l48smallblock That little blue patch separates the river swimmers from the citizens. That way the citizens can separate the cheap assed motherfuckers from the customers that want their shit fixed right and make more money doing the work. KNOWHUTIMEAN?
They didn't mention that you have to turn your pockets inside out, scanned with a metal detector, and cannot even take a breath mint in with you. You feel like you are being checked into jail. What if some freakin psyco comes in and starts shooting the place up? If you are a concealed carry holder, you're fucked. You die. Hell, you can't even go outside for a smoke. I am definately complaining to ASE about the testing check in.
@l48smallblock You are so fuckin wrong. I will never take my car to the dealership unless its new with a warranty. Independent shops do a lot better job and its cheaper, the one I go to anyway.
dealerships have an advantage called "known good parts" ever see that written in alldata or mitchels or "dealer repair manuals"? there are a lot of top notch techs at independant shops as there are hacks at dealerships that have no clue what they are doing.
@l48smallblock I agree with what you are saying and even though GM has a butt load of training they still require you be A1-A8 (master) certified. I got hired a a Nissan dealer just because I am Master certified so it helps show an employer you give a shit and have a clue. Besides they pay for you to take the tests.
it takes many years of experiece to be a good mechanic,ASE is not gonna make you a better tech!dealership have factory trained technition's that know there product's.dont be fooled about that little blue patch, indepedent shops need it to make people think they have some special training.

Dude WTF are you talking about. Nobody cares. This isn't the place for whatever it is you're trying to do. Go find a review site like yelp.
