How to teach a parrot to fetch. This video shows you how I taught Truman the basics of the retrieve trick in just 4 training sessions.

Originally I was going to do a longer video that shows training progress to a greater extent but I had too much footage to fit within 10 minutes and due to Truman's Injury was unable to complete the training for the complete video. @kiliparrot My parrots favorite toy is a ball. Will this keep him from playing with them when I don't tell him to fetch? Or will he still play with the balls in his cage?

@lemurfan123 To avoid reinforcing flinging the ball or dropping it somewhere that isn't the cup. In order to learn fetch, he has to only be rewarded when dropping it specifically into the cup.

@ShreddGamer14 thats a whiffle ball so you can probably get it at sports stores.

@Lesie1998 you could use a bead maybe?? just make sure isn't big enough that they can't swallow it. The clicker thing he is using is just a training clicker and you can usually get tim at pet stores for cheap. I got mine at Petsmart for 50 cents
