Left 4 Dead Console Tutorial: How to get the console up

I decided making a tutorial about how to enable the console. Since alot of comments as of 7th April 2009 has troubles getting thier consoles working, I decided making a FAQ.
Q: I don't find the properties anywhere, whats going on?
A: You might got left 4 dead somewhere else than steam, if you watch some of the other comments, you'll easily find a tutorial on how to enable console if you got left 4 dead non-steam
Q: I can't find the \ button
A: If you can't find the button, then try using another key instead, like X or P.
Q: I press the ½ button, but it doesn't open
A: Did you even type bind \ toggleconsole?
Q: I did, but it still doesn't work, why?
A: Its depending what keyboard you got, but you can press whatever key thats under ESC.
Q: Does this tutorial work on other steam games?
A: It does, list of games that can be supported by this tutorial: Team Fortress 2, Portal, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Day of Defeat: Source, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Garry's Mod, Left 4 Dead 2, Alien Swarm, Portal 2 and all other source games/mods

somehow i cant use console :( everytime whatever what i do i cant get it up

of course it does. The console is not a bonus feature, Is a developer tool.
