whit is sin? "to miss the mark." The mark, in this case, is the standard of perfection established by God and evidenced by Jesus. Viewed in that light, it is clear that we are all sinners.

The Apostle Paul says in Romans 3:23: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

  • It's interesting to see GEERUP go on about his categorical moral view. Morality as custom, as dictated to you by some authority... it's hard for we post-moderns to take seriously. I mean it's difficult for me to believe such a thing ever existed, but here it is. Morality without relation to personal utility, without reference to suffering or consequences of any sort. In short, an imperative with no reason, a mere 'thou shalt' suffices for GEERUP.

  • @GnosticAgnostic Upon analyzing your response to this video I must conclude you are merely dismissing my moral viewpoint because of your personal unbelief. All modern morality has its ties historically to that of natural law and its biblical directives. Most of our current foundational laws are based upon such. take for instance " all men are created equal" and we hold these truths to be self-evident.

  • is it considered a sin if you do somthing say somthing illegal but no one was hurt by it and no suffering was caused by it?

  • yes..sin is To violate a religious or moral law or legal law. btw all laws have a moral to them.

  • Sin: A weakend state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God.

  • Amen. jeff you said it ...hope to see a post from you soon Blessings

  • Sin does not exist.

  • @GEERUP

    There exist many moral theories which have nothing to do with natural law or Biblical directives: egoism, virtue ethics, Deontology, Utilitarianism, etc. Perhaps you mean to say that some founding American documents borrow considerably from Locke, who was in turn likely influenced by his faith?

  • Sin is meaningless. If there is no way for a person to be free of sin, who cares about sin? It's just a word that is made up to make people feel bad about themselves, which is obvious when you look at the bible. That's pretty much what the bible is all about: We should feel bad about ourselves. It's a mind trick, nothing else.

  • Hey Geerup;

    Sin is just another term born out of superstition and for the purpose of mentally indoctrinating gullible people to afraid to question such madness. In short, sin is a myth.

  • Definition of sin:

    1 John 3:4 "Sin is the transgression of the law. We can understand it came from Lucifer as when he exalted himself above the throne of god Ezekiel 28. But if we were to truly understand what sin is then we could excuse it...By the way great video

  • "Sin" is one of the major characters in the video game Final Fantasy X, an enormous monster that pretty much destroys everything it comes across, in the hopes that a summoner will reach the ruins of Zanarkand and kill it, to end its pain. The summoner dies in the process, and Sin is killed, only to be reborn a few decades later, and the cycle continues.

    Also, "err" is pronounced very much like "air".

  • the 10 commandments. If you have trouble remembering them, then do what Jesus said. "Love God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself"

  • Yes, gods law is programmed into our heads, but satn wants to keep us confused, but the bible also describes the mark, everyone will miss the mark , because we will all sin, and we have all sinned
