great post, I still have my doubts. The more I learn about politics and world views, the less I trust that our leaders have our wellbeing in mind. It's almost commonplace to agree that things are crooked, and I think that our media is failing to protect us from our own civic laziness.

I was referring to page 44 of the the NCSTAR 1A report where it says, "... the observed time it took for the roofline to fall approximately 18 stories to the free fall time under the force of gravity."

From what I read, it was the new asbestos laws being passed during the building of the towers that blew off all the fire-proofing. So, basically we have enough asbestos in those buildings to cause cancer upon collapse, but not enough to fireproof them. Great job as usual on the part of the laws.
