Solar Langar An Initiative by Dr Bhupinder Singh, Founder GWAF Fazilka

Action upon the teachings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, "Pawan Guru, Pani Pita" :: Urja Purush Uttrakhand, Dr Bhupinder organised first Solar Langar (Community Cooking) at IIT Roorkee (UA) in the year 1984 . Dr Singh is now Retired Professor from Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Roorkeer, After retirement he formed Graduates Welfare Association Fazilka (GWAF) for the welfare of his hometown Fazilka.He along with his team of GWAF working in the area of 4's, Education, Environment, Energy and Employment. Dr Singh is an alumni of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana.
