  • Dynamic changes within singular notes and phrases will create more movement. In particular, learn how to taper, it's hard as heck to do, but the effect is amazing and makes a piece like the vocalise all the more beautiful

  • Agreed, I'm working on the vibrato. I listened to I. Perlman playing this on the violin and I now use that as my example of vibrato on this piece. Do you have any advice on interpretation or how to play this piece with more character? Just wondering, if there's nothing than dont worry about it. Thanks for the comment.

  • i studied this piece for a while, you have a very nice rounded sound, but if you added some varied vibrato the difference would be amazing

  • Sorry if I was being too abstract. It sounded to me that your sound quality was better in piano than in forte. I was a bit surprised about that since playing in piano is usually more difficult to a windplayer than playing in forte. While listening I thought that forte could be a bit rounder even though it's loud. By a round sound I mean a sound that has big volume but still isn't hard.

  • What do you mean by develop the forte to have as much colours as the piano? i dont fully understand this comment. How would you recomend I do this?

  • That's interesting, about the long note accents. I've never really noticed that, or thought about that, but now that I listen I think I understand what you're saying. I think I will listen to other recordings on youtube and compare their long notes with mine and see what it sounds like. But I will work on that. Thanks.

  • I like your sound especially in piano, and I think it would be great if you could develop your forte to have as much colours as your piano has. I hope some of this is useful to you!

  • I really like your idea of this piece, I think you've caught the spirit of it very well. I like your phrasing, you've got a beautiful legato. Sometimes I get the impression that you make unintentional accents on the long notes, and that breaks the line a bit. For example in the beginning I would put less weight on the long notes. That way the small phrases relate to each other better and form a longer line.
