Just today, a collaboration between the Norfolk Southern Corporation, Gulf & Ohio Railways, and the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum was staged as part of the 2011 meeting of the Lexington Group in Transportation History.
This mild, yet freakishly blustery day began at 9:30 when Southern 154 hauled the special five car train down a, where a G&O SW15000 tacked onto the rear to help shove the train up the gradients, slight though they are.
Then, TVRM's Southern 630 takes the helm on the return trip, and rightfully gives the foamers a run for their photo lines. In short, we had a blast chasing these engines, and we're confident the Lexington Group feels the same. Hats off to those involved, and we hope to see them on the rails next year!
Damn helicopters allways buzz around at the wrong time!

Great video! Too bad it was so windy, made the camera shake a lot. Otherwise, good footage!

Epic video! Glad to see so much steam in and around my hometown, though I haven't been able to see any of it. Looks like NS's new program is off to a great start, eh?
