Nathaniel Mayer live in NYC, October 4, 2003. Although this clip is merely a camcorder from the crowd, it does capture a great performance, and marks an exceptional time in Naydog's return to the show biz. First NYC appearance in nearly 40 years, Nathaniel returns with a great band from Detroit to wow New Yorkers; Bow Wow & Caw Caw! Nathaniel performs with Betty Brownlee (of the Uncle Jessie Band), Jeff Meier (of Rocket 455 & Detroit Cobras), Mike Murphy (of Hysteric Narcotics, Denizens, & Space Heaters), Dale Beavers, Dan Mulholland, and others. Chicken and I put the show on in NYC in 2003, just before Nathaniel agreed to narrate our feature length film; Wayne County Ramblin'. New York's Sato and Jonny were the worthy opening act.

  • kick ass!

  • I had the good fortune to know Nate and to be on stage with him doing backup vocals during this particular show. Great that it's captured on video... the atmosphere that night was pure electricity. RIP Nate... we all miss you.

  • I was at this show at Sine' on Attorney St. It was the first time I'd ever seen Nate and it was the best show I would ever see him do. The band, I believe called the Shanks, had driven in with him from Detroit. The tall thin guy there led the group in a terrific set before Nate came on stage. So, kudos to that band- a bunch of soulful white folks.

    Farewell, Nate.

  • love u and will miss you. thanks for the dance.
