For anybody facing the prospect of having to have a colonoscopy, or for those of us suffering from IBD and needing to have a colonoscopy/ pouchoscopy (if you don't have a colon), I try to explain in basic terms, what a colonoscopy entails, what to expect when having a colonoscopy and reasons for a colonoscopy. This is another addition to the United Colon Vlog's video glossary, Enjoy!

  • I thought a Colonoscopy was when they inserted a tube and flushed out your colon..what is that called?

  • @PinkGomo I have heard about that. It seems like that would be an Enema. Some are called Tap Water Enemas. (they create a lot of pressure, and you are not sedated for it, then right after, you go to the bathroom a lot until everything is cleared out.) Nurses usually help a patient do this before a procedure like a colonoscopy. I have had it done before, They use a bag of warm water to do it. Thanks for watching! And thanks for commenting!
