Storms in the Gulf of Alaska produced 25-foot swells that combined with high tides to produce some exceptional wave activity on the Washington Coast. North Cove and Grayland beaches were inaccesible while waves continually crashed over the jetty at Westport. USCG used the rough seas to train crews in Westport. Nov. 6-7, 2009.

  • I live just a couple blocks from the Taurus blvd beach entrance at Ocean Shores. I remember the water nearly came out to the road that year

  • That was excellent!!

  • I was just over in Ocean Shores yesterday the 16th. There were some good waves and wind then. I might have a video response from the jetty but my camera just kept getting wet and it isn't so great. I might go over there tomorrow as there is supposed to be another another front coming in with storm warnings.

  • Thanks for this. Glad there's no music, just the sound of the water and where you were...
