lisamwhite....been living here 10 years, been coming to Austin to visit my aunt since the mid 1960's(who worked for the university since the 1950's, thus has been a long time Austin resident)
I have always heard it pronounced Guad-a-loop.
I know the correct pronunciation of Manchaca is like it is spelled, but long time Austinites will say Man-shack.

produced like the river? lol.... In Austin that is how they pronounce it... If you say it like it is supposed to be said, then everyone knows you are not from Austin...
