does anyone know what is the French game played on board, dice, with little horses moving along the squares? I remember seeing it in one of Jeunet's films.

5:40 what is happening to Krank? Is he remembering something that actually happened? Did the inventor put the dream machine on the infant Krank when he was first 'created'? And Krank's remembering of this event is tearing him apart inside? Because it seems to either kill him or make him braindead
or was this event something that only happened in the dream, and was Miette's doing? Obviously the inventor himself never joined into the dream, but Miette pulled the switch and he came...

I always loved Miette-- she was Firstly so beautiful. Secondly such a strong character. being on the streets you have to think on your toes. Clever and brave. In that dress, she always reminded me of a little Alice. The END-- is by far the greatest SFX i've seen. That dream tripped me out! It was pretty amazing to actually SEE her become the Woman she always tries to be, and then to see the Woman who's she Destined to be. What a transformation!! LOVED it!

Too bad you can't hear the voices. But thank you for this really... really creepy score! Reminds me of the score for Fable II.

I'm gonna keep you in mind if I never need a soundtrack composed.

very good terry gilliam film :)
The Original score is 100x's better.
Now... that's not to say that the score which you have introduced is bad in any way. I do like it...only it doesn't do the whole scene justice. The moment when Miette is in the dream, you only get the musical score. There are very minimal vocals and sounds, if any, at the moment of transformation. That is a Very critical moment! I've seen your version and Angelo's- and IMO yours is very slow, and very quiet.
I respect that you are a Fan of this great film!

@MrShaun42088 : Thanks very much for your honest feedback. You mention that:
"only it doesn't do the whole scene justice. The moment when Miette is in the dream, you only get the musical score. There are very minimal vocals and sounds, if any, at the moment of transformation."
Just for clarification's sake, there was no way for me to keep any of the original dialog from the scene (if that's what you mean by vocals).
I appreciate your feedback.

your music is great, but by putting 'original music' you might confuse a lot of native english speakers into thinking that this is THE original music/score, which I learn from comments below, it is not. perhaps a clearer wording could be sought.

Duly noted and adjusted, thanks for the suggestion!

This isn´t the original score and sound. I´ve got the dvd and that particular scene where she dances with him has got a very particular theme. The music for the film is very special, I guess you could say that Jean-Pierre Jeunet is somewhat like Tim Burton in that sense because they´ve both got a talent for finding good composers that create music that fit the mood of the film precisly.

That's correct. As the introductory card and the youtube description for the clip imply, the music is my own score.
And I agree, the original score by Angelo Badalamenti is extremely well done. Thanks for posting.
