it is hard to hear the lead singer at times on this recording... he is getting too covered by the oohs and ahhing going on with the background parts. Otherwise, it is nice. The chords really ring.
-
The singer is micced though... The leadsingers mic could have been turned up a bit when the background parts went to Forte and FF.

@EnigmaInPr - very true. Even if the videographer had done a live audio feed directly from the board, it wouldn't have sounded the way the internet world wants it to. I say an awesome job by all, on stage and backstage as well!

I do all my songs a cappelle, come take a look

I just wish the sound was better. Awesome rendition.
-
Magnificent.
-
* by snare i mean hihat.
-
AAAAAAH I can't find the downbeat! ACK.
Actually in the Bobby Darin vid (with the purple/pink/orange backdrop), the snare is on the offbeat. Weird. It just completely throws me off here, though. Maybe it's because the group vocals aren't loud enough in this recording.
-
ahhhhhh the beatboxer buts the hihat on the downbeat instead of the offbeat, NOT appropriate for the big band style
-
Great job!
Good selection!

no, it's just a few discordant notes. to an untrained ear, it sounds messed up.
-
you're all amazing, and the soloist has an incredible voice!
actually guys, the beat is RIGHT on. Listen to the version by Louis Armstrong. It's exactly how he takes it.

Most people are used to hearing percussion strike on the offbeat, not the downbeat. It took a few measures to get perfect, but we got there.
