you are right the vikings invaded and settled on the coast of ireland but the vikings did not conquer all of ireland... there were numerous irish kingdoms who were always at war..the english were invited to ireland by an irish king to help defeat another irish king from a diff part of ireland. The Irish king with the help of the english beat the other irish king but then the english decided to stay and conquer they entire island
