"Thunderball" - Cover by James Whyte

This is my tribute to one of the classic Bond films...Thunderball. This song was recorded for the movie by the incomparable Sir Tom Jones. The popular rumor is that he passed out in the recording studio after hitting the final note of the song. If you listen to his recording, he holds that note for about 8 seconds. So, in the true James Bond spirit, I let it all hang out and held it for a full 20 seconds! I must admit I felt a bit lightheaded for a few seconds afterward, but (much to my relief) I never at any time lost consciousness!

Thank you for the nice complement! I'm a big Tom Jones fan and love to do his songs when singing in public. Now if I could just get women to throw undergarments at me like they do for Sir Tom! I'm also a big fan of Engelbert Humperdinck. They don't seem to make singers like that anymore...which is undoubtedly the reason they're still so popular after all these years. its fairly easy to hold the G for 20 seconds but i've tried the Bb (the original key) and its sooooo difficult to hold it any longer than TJ's 8 seconds. Its testament to the great Tom Jones' singing prowess, dont you agree? No wonder he apparently passed out!
