Orejuana and Karim of Co-Op bring it hard, deep, dark and moody in a minimal techno jam session.
We broke in some new tracks and new sounds, concentrating on driving, broken beats. Karim strapped on an electric guitar equiped with a Boss GT-10 effects processor while juggling a MicroKorg with a Line 6 POD X3 for effcts and a Novation keyboard controlled by Ableton Live. I am using Ableton Live and a Novation/Ableton Launchpad to trigger loops, segments of tracks and our own percussive arrangements. I am mixing everything with a A&H xone:92 with an optional delay controlled by Ableton Live, which I use for builds and a ping-pong/doubles effect.
We are very pleased with our progress and are finally comfortable with the setup. Comments, suggestions and criticisms are appreciated.
Track 1: Room 10 - Cumple
Track 2: Easy Changes - Zhazhda Krovi
The music is some damn lovely minimal house. I love it.
The bouncing back and forth of the two (very talented) plain looking guys, not so much for the eye candy.
Maybe you could have a female friend dance for you? Or some video of unrelated things for visual interest.
There are lots of programs for creating simple videos. I love 'Camtwist'

We are happy you enjoy the music. We are still exploring and learning but the concept is coming together.
Visually wise, I share these sessions so people can see what we are doing, get some ideas and provide some constructive criticism.
Substance, especially musically speaking, is more important than aesthetics :-)

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement.
The central idea of the project is to add layers and subtleties while reinterpreting tracks. We want to mess with the traditional linear paradigm of mixing tracks (start to finish) and prefer to use loops and segments of tracks. Every time we jam with a track something different comes out.

I really don't hear anything you do in this video. The same song keeps playing and nothing is changing when you play something...? Still, a great song imo.

In this clip I am mixing loops and segments of tracks (indicated in the description) and adding our own percussive patterns. There is almost no melody in the tracks. Karim fills in the melody with the MicroKorg, Novation keyboard controlled by Ableton, and electric guitar. The guitar is on a feedback loop and Karim controls the levels with the Novation controller. You have to watch carefully to pick up exactly what we are doing.
