@HaNnAhLiSmE i have this comp and the battery actually lasts 8 hours at the min with low brightness etc.

I have the same one running windows xp, but its slow, and it keeps kicking me out of internet and msn, i want to make it faster but not sure how, my 8 gig hdd is full and i dont have anything saved to the hdd, all my stuff is saved to the 8 gig mem card i have for the expandable slot, so how can i make it faster?

@HaNnAhLiSmE: Maybe you should give linux a try. 1. you could have saved the dough on the external, seeing as you could have just made a bootable flash drive. Don't be afraid of something new. There are a number of distros built specifically for netbooks. They look great, and soem perform even better with the limited specs

I got one of the like second newest aspire one that has a 10.1 Led Lcd Gb Ram and 160 Gb RAM

They have come a long way in a year and a half, although they still use the same processor, which is disappointing, although Intel just released some new Atom processors, they're no faster, just more energy efficient. Anyway, hope you like your Acer!

I have this computer. It's super fast. But I HATE it. It rashes every other month, so I had to pay an extra $150 to buy an external c.d. drive, and I have to constantly re-load the software. And the battery only lasts for about and hour and a half. And also, the speakers completely suck. No one should get this computer!!

It crashes? I've experienced a few crashes, but mostly stuff that I caused from messing with the software. Are you running Linpus Linux? Have you updated the software?

Where did you get it? i was looking at the air bags of the box and it looks like the one from lockerz? is it?

I don't remember where I got it, but it is the very first version of the Acer Aspire One, they do not make this version any more, they've since updated it with a 10" model and put hard drives in them rather than the SSD, which turned out to be rather slow.
