"was it possible for people to know this information at the time the quran was revealed".....well i have 3 responses for that...

1)seeing as there is no "lapping" in day to night, i would have to say no.lol

i would like to take this time to point out that there is no verse in the quran that states the earth is anything but flat.

every description is in comparison to flat objects with 4 corners (rugs,beds etc) and every event that takes place indirectly states the same by not being possible on a spherical object (spreading out the earth, giving it a wide expanse), one verse even states the earth is flat in regards to flat land an ostrich lays its egg in, muslims mistranslate to mean the egg.

Multiple verses in Quran are based on assumption that earth is flat. Why weren't they shown as well?

Many muslims try to show that Quran is true because some verses in it atleast seem (at first) to match with reality but totally ignore all scientific nonsense in it. Even if some part is true and some others aren't then the true part doesn't make the whole book true. It just shows that someone has problems to see the whole picture.
