St. Catharine College students Dorie and Kevin Elam take time out from meeting with legislators during AIKCU Legislative Day to talk about why they decided to go back to school and why they chose to attend an independent college. The motivators they list - state, federal, and institutional financial aid; support from their college and employer; a feeling of belonging; and the motivation to serve as examples to their children - are indicative of why more and more Kentucky adults are choosing to go back to school at AIKCU institutions (more than 20% of students are 25 or over).
