Gisbod - Watch in 720p HD and full screen for best effect! *Please see my other films in the series* The Red Baron & Voss*

Historical documentary on the last flight of Edward 'Mick' Mannock (please see my other films for the Red Baron & Voss) using the flight sim - "Rise of Flight".

It's as historically correct as I can possibly make it - The facts of the encounter are well documented - but the location of his body is still controversial.

There a few mini clips from the "Aces Falling" documentary - they should be obvious where they are! (worth watching and available on YouTube).

Grateful for any suggestions/comments on the historical debate or otherwise..

  • Nice work, what movie is the short clips of film footage from?

  • @Hammer757

    'Aces Falling' Documentary..

  • @CrankEmpire - just a combination of the different camera views in game - each can be altered with mouse movement & the zoom.. Just a case of experimentation to get the right shot..

  • I thought this was very well done. Telling a sad story in such a violent time. Though many heroes were made on all sides during the war, I hope and pray that we never have to see a time filled with such turmoil and darkness ever again. RIP to all of those who gave their lives for their nations.

  • @aaronzack14 I would have bigger feel of burning and surving it. I would not have the guts to shoot my self but I would bail out

  • i dont blame him, id rather shoot myself, or fall a couple hundred feet than be burned alive.

  • RIP Schöpf and hein :(

  • Well done, fine sir! That was great, especially liked the end, it was heart breaking. <;(

  • Nice video ... and ... how name is a last music ?

  • Excellent and very well put together video. I recognise the detail of research from the Documentary "World War 1 Aces Falling" which was a superb Documentary.

Your video brings the story to life and the RoF game engine has impressed me too, as-well as your Film-Making/Editing skills.

Very well done, great feature. Cheers, Mysticpuma

  • I'm pretty sure that most stories say that Edward Mick Mannock was credited with 73 kills by the time of his death even though some say 61, quite a difference ? This was another great video made BTW. It's nice to see people using correct background music for these types of genre.

  • That German gray with the black Iron Cross is just kick ass looking.

  • I love your videos! Just wanted to point one thing out, in this one some of the white text is almost impossible to read when it appears against the clouds. Keep up the terrific work!
