The colorful knitted blankets known as "afghans" were originally patterned after centuries old textiles from Afghanistan. Hand knitting these wool blankets is an ancient art that is still widely practiced today. VOA's George Dwyer reports on an American woman who has organized hundreds of volunteers to produce handmade "Afghans" in gratitude to American service men and women serving in places like Iraq and Afghanistan
Great idea! God bless you, our troops and their families.

Well, you can either wait to be attacked and think the world will love you just cuz you're nice, or you can get real about the fact that some folks want to hurt you - and some folks want to protect you from them.

anything that supports war can't be made with love, no matter on whose side you are
knitting charity should be done for anything else but war, even supporting soldiers as america is not attacked by iraq, it is the other way round
