Composed by Lucky Akhond, performed by late Happy Akhond, this track is probably the most popular song in Bangladesh for the last 25 years and hope it will be for the next 100 years. This song was released in early 1980's in a movie called "Guddi". Many singers made cover for this song, including me.

  • Abar Elo Je Shondha is orginally composed by my dad Ishtiaqur Rahman .... lyrics was written by Happy uncle and originally sang by Happy Uncle himself.... My dad , Happy uncle Kamal uncle etc formed the band Miles. Shafin and his brother was there too but they used to play rythm and they were really young my dad used to call them Togon Mona i guess.... after my dad and his friends left the band shafin and his brother continued Miles =).

  • Nice comments, I don't know much about the history of the band Miles. As far as i am concerned "Abar Elo je Shondha" was written by S. M. Hedayet, freind of Lucky Akhond, when they were on a journey to Nowga to meet Ashish Baroi. Lucky Akhond made the tune on the lyrics when they returned to Dhaka. Later Happy Akhond recorded the song with his band, and it became a mega hit. There are the statements made by Lucky Akhond himself.

  • well yes .... sorry i have mistaken .... the lyrics was written by Lucky Akhond and he made the tune on the lyrics and the music composition was done by my dad !!! and Happy uncle sang the song !!! Thats what my dad said today ! =)

  • Thank you very much for your reply. And Hats Off to your dad Mr. Ishtiaqur Rahman for making the composition of one of the greatest song in the history of Bangladesh. We all hope that he will make more beautiful compositions in upcoming future.

By the way, what other super hit songs were composed by your dad? I want to know.

  • mama ami to jantam S.M Hedayet er lekha ei gaan ta!!

    কথা: এস.এম. হেদায়েত

    সুর: লাকী আখান্দ্

  • Thanks for your comments. You are absolutely right. You can see in the first reply to Zeesh181, I wrote S.M. Hedayet was the lyricist of this song and Lucky Akhond made the tune. Mr. Zeeshan (Zeesh181) may be confused about the lyricist and tune composer.

  • Took keen interest in the writings under this solo bangla song. Learnt a lot about a little history of the song. Thanks to all of you.

  • @zeesh181

if your dad was the composer and gave tune to this song, why has he remained silent all these years when this has been credited to Lucky Akhand for tune, and Happy Akhand for first recording for the movie Ghuddi (Raisul Islam Asad) - the original recording is crap - total destruction of a classy song. But Lucky Akhand rescued it in his second album albeit rather clumsily...nobody has done proper justice to this beautiful song yet

  • .....:-".....
