Triple Crown of Surfing Reef Pro 2010

I drove out to Haleiwa to Ali'i Beach Park to get a flavor of this year's Triple Crown of Surfing event the Reef Pro. From the difficulty of finding parking near the event to the beautiful weather, I just happened to catch a quarter final heat featuring eventual winner Joel Parkinson up against Haleiwa home boy Joel Centeio. Both men were clearly a notch above the other surfers at this event although the conditions favored wave selection at times over skill. With the advent of live streaming over the internet of events of this caliber, we all can judge how well the judges judged.
