  • Hey i am not sure if anyone would know the answer to this but i am going to running 2 15'' kicker comp subwoofers with a 1000 watt amp and was wondering if my distributor (old stock 89 Ford Probe) will handle it without dieing or if i need a new one what one would handle it without dieing and be the cheapest. Thank you!

  • @riggzskater I definetly would do the big three upgrade and an extra battery. Do not run the power thru your truck just off of it and make sure you have a heavy duty 160 amp fuse with 2 awg wire and 2 awg ground. cheaper is not always better!! BASSHEADS!!!

  • @riggzskater Thanks for the advice! Is the extra battery really necessary? I know if i was using a good brand like btl, dc, or anything like that but kicker is kinda low on the charts and i have not seen anyone on youtube with an extra battery for this particular system.

  • @riggzskater Kicker is not cheap. Check out the Kicker Warhorse! Its just not underground like the brands you mentioned. Not everybody on youtube have the same system you have. The stock batt you have is for starting your car and headlights or power windows and radio. Its not made for aftermarkets amps sucking 160 amps plus from it. so it is nessasary.

  • @djfdogg Oh, what i mean is that Kicker subwoofers have a pretty low max watt, i no that kicker makes great amps especially the warhorse. I ended up searching a little more and decide kicker was not right for me, so i just decided to go with one 15'' sundown audio e series in a ported box tuned to 35hz with a 800 watt amp. Hits those lows like crazy!! I did end up doing the big 3 upgrade with 0 gauge wires. She's running strong, but im planning on buying a new battery and new distributor.

  • @riggzskater Cool man glad to hear you got some good car audio that is reliable and sounds good! Cool keep me updated on the batt and let me know what you decide to do. Keep me updated. Hit me up man on FB. facebook /djfdogg

  • I don't understand why people hate on Steve, he has worked so hard on this badass machine and gets so much negative. He has truly created a beautiful work of car audio art.
