In the summer of 2009 Adobe Youth Voices held its first International Youth Media Summit bringing together youth who had participated in the AYV programs. I was asked to develop and teach a media workshop that involved teaching basic media literacy and video production to 20 international students. We were assigned the topic of change and the challenge was to divide the group into 4 teams that would make distinct sections exploring the topic that would then be linked together into a cohesive piece. We had 6 hours to study media examples, brainstorm and script the project, develop a structure of the overall piece, shoot and edit the piece.
This Adobe Youth Voices video was made by youth in the Change group and produced by the lead mentor Kirthi Nath with assistance from Karen Lum (Teaching Assistant).
